I hope soe isnt gonna become like EA and stop supporting planetside. (EA killed Westwood which made some of the best command and conquer games) Is soe killing the planetside staff? Could this be our last year playing ps? Its pretty strange for that many people to just walk out of soe all the sudden. Does anyone else smell something strange here?

probably having their pay/hours cut... Not like Planetside is going full steam and that they are as needed as before.

Yeah, I've been smelling it all morning so far. And I'm afriad I'll be smelling it all day today.

EA also shot Earth and Beyond...that was a good game...and if I could I'd chase down the EA executive who shut down Earth and Beyond and tripple shot him with a jackhammer...but seeing as thats impossible... :(

anyway. FOR THE LOVE OF PETE! SOE NEEDS TO KEEP THEIR EMPLOYEES! QUICK EVERYONE GRAB YOUR WEAPONS WE NEED TO SAVE THEM! :P

on the notion of personnel changes, i learned from alex recently that fisa castellanos was moved from the ps team to EQII as aftershock was finished for release.

I would be to, but so far they have made no moves of filling the shoes which have been left empty. So far, PS is only loosing staff, and the things that we have been promised ie. base redesigns are kinda being swept under the carpet. Kinda leaves a sour taste in your mouth when you realize there is a downwards trend here.

I decided to crosspost this on vscommand.com cuz I was bored. Here's what I got out of it so far.....

April fools joke. Nothing to be worried about. The Star Wars Galaxies dev's did the same thing.

Its all going back to SmokeJumper leaving... there is some thing sturing at SOE and the former Verrant employes from Planetside havent been acting normal about it. Wich gives them a good time to leave and find a new job because they have completed there time here.

Actually recently SOE has laid off between 30-40 people in their gaming department in San Diego.

Actually recently SOE has laid off between 30-40 people in their gaming department in San Diego.

Sony, as a Corporation overall, has seen a major decrease in profits as of late, getting slaughtered completely in the Electronics market, getting bad reviews didn't help them at all, and then there was some shit going down internally, as I've heard from some Sony sales rep.

The PSP will define a lot of things for them, as they've put a ton of money behind it. Let's see how they do.
