I finally decided it was time to move on. I have been very patient during the last nearly 2 years but it became apparent that there was no way to revive msh from inactivity. Let me tell you about the history of mad spys hideaway.
The outfit started out quite nicely. Rank didn't mean anything we were all just basically a group that would login, always squad and work together as a team. Problems would occasionally arise between a few of my outfit members and I myself would continue to have problems with 2 of them.
As time went on, that began to end and things improved. I later decided that I wanted to try and organize the outfit with some form of rank. A second in command that could have a bit more control and take care of things during my absence. This upset some of the members because they liked things the way they were without rank meaning anything.
I basically dropped the idea but it wasn't long from then that one of the members kept saying that we should have a meeting about the outfit status. He was one of the problem makers so I usually just ignored him and brushed him aside but not too long after that I logged in to find that nearly all of my active members had left the outfit and started a new one. I pleaded to them to return and we would try to work something out but it was too late.
I wasn't too surprised to find out who the ringleader was as he was one of the problem causers. Some people I guess are just better leaders and can get people to follow them and ignore the problem at hand. Eventually that outfit died and slowly over time more outfit members returned to msh and things improved.
Soon the outfit began to fall as a result of bfrs and other things that had ruined the gameplay. Members left to try games like wow etc. When reserves started I was able to get a few more recruited and msh was starting to look active again. The fun was soon ended as hacking began to increase in frequency and again the outfit left. I left with them myself for awhile to go play wow.
After playing wow for a few months I decided to return to planetside and naturally not many were ready to return. things had calmed and the game was getting better, the cheating was basically non-existant. After waiting months for outfit members to return it became apparent that they were never going to leave wow and if they did it would be for only a short time. Usually a short time because they would come back when the game was in bad shape and the population was too low.
Finally the server merge and I hear that alot of them are going to return. 3 players return for the free time before the merge and thats it. 1 of them played for a bit after and then left.
I'm not sure where I'll go from here myself. I left 2 of my alts in madspys and removed everyone else so they could pickup and move on whenever they returned. It was just getting too depressing looking at that huge list of inactive members.
I will say that the most fun I ever had in planetside was with the original group of players that help me start the outfit such as Freehugs, darkego, origionalprankster, snakecakes and klepto. I never found a more fun time then what I had back then and hopefully someday I'll get to repeat that and maybe rebuild the outfit. I still have some hope that i'll see these guys again in planetside someday.
For now I will remain [No outfit]
